emh group has A+ credit rating confirmed

Leicestershire-based social housing and care organisation emh group has had its A+ rating and stable outlook confirmed by ratings agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P).

The landlord has nearly 20,000 homes across the East Midlands.

In its report on the organisation, S&P noted that emh group is improving its operating performance through cost control, and remains focused on social housing where there is continuing high demand. The development programme, which currently focuses on affordable rent, will however increasingly move towards more shared ownership homes, but with no outright sales thereby limiting its exposure to the volatility associated with market-related activities. Over the next three years, the group will substantially increase its output from 300 to 700 new homes a year.

Chan Kataria, emh group Chief Executive, said: “The affirmation of our strong credit rating comes at the end of our most successful year to date. This confidence in our financial strength means that we can continue to pursue our vision of delivering high-quality energy efficient homes for our communities.”
